Terms of Use

Effective Date: 20 July 2026  |  Last Updated: 20 July 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the ColCare telemedicine platform (the “Platform”) by students, doctors, pharmacy staff, diagnostic centre staff, and platform administrators. By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, accessing, or using ColCare in any capacity, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

  • Student accounts are created using the student's matriculation number and by selecting their institution from ColCare's list of partner institutions.
  • Doctors, pharmacy staff, and diagnostic centre staff must submit their professional licence, credential, and identification documents for review before their account is activated.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • The Platform is intended for use by enrolled students who are legally able to consent to their own medical treatment under Nigerian law. ColCare does not currently operate a guardian-consent or guardian co-presence process for minors.

3. Description of Services

ColCare connects students with licensed doctors for consultations, and enables prescriptions to be routed to partner pharmacies and test orders to be routed to partner diagnostic centres. ColCare is a technology platform that facilitates these connections; it does not itself provide medical, pharmacy, or diagnostic services.

4. Not a Substitute for Emergency Care

ColCare is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your institution's emergency services or the nearest hospital immediately rather than using the Platform.

5. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, current health and personal information so that doctors can safely assess and treat you.
  • Use one account for your own personal use; accounts may not be shared or transferred.
  • Attend scheduled consultations on time and communicate respectfully with doctors and staff.
  • Keep payment and wallet details up to date and only use payment methods you are authorised to use.

6. Doctors, Pharmacies, and Diagnostic Centres

Doctors, pharmacies, and diagnostic centres on ColCare are independent, verified practitioners and businesses, not employees or agents of ColCare. Doctors are responsible for the clinical judgment, diagnoses, and prescriptions they provide. Pharmacies and diagnostic centres are responsible for the accuracy and quality of the goods and services they dispense or deliver, and must remain in good standing with the applicable Nigerian regulatory and professional bodies (including the MDCN, where applicable) for the duration of their participation on the Platform.

7. Payments, Wallets, and Refunds

  • Consultations and wallet top-ups are processed through ColCare's payment partners and are subject to their terms.
  • Wallet balances are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Refunds for undelivered or cancelled services are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may be requested through the Support section of the app or by contacting us directly.
  • Doctor earnings are paid out to the bank account details the doctor provides and keeps up to date; ColCare is not responsible for losses caused by incorrect bank details supplied by the doctor.

8. Prescriptions and Medical Advice

Prescriptions, referrals, and clinical advice provided through the Platform reflect the independent professional judgment of the treating doctor based on the information available at the time of consultation. ColCare does not review, alter, or guarantee the clinical accuracy of any diagnosis, prescription, or advice given by a doctor.

9. Intellectual Property

The ColCare name, logo, app, and website, including their design, text, and underlying software, are the property of ColCare or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written consent, except as necessary to use the Platform as intended.

10. Prohibited Conduct

  • Impersonating another person, or misrepresenting your identity, qualifications, or enrolment status
  • Attempting to circumvent identity, credential, or payment verification
  • Uploading false health information, prescriptions, or test results
  • Interfering with the security, availability, or normal operation of the Platform
  • Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable Nigerian law

11. Termination and Suspension

ColCare may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, presents a safety risk, or involves fraudulent activity, with or without prior notice where reasonably necessary. You may close your own account at any time from Settings, subject to the data retention rules described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, ColCare is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform, or from the acts or omissions of independent doctors, pharmacies, or diagnostic centres. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify ColCare against claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes arising from these Terms will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation via Settings > Support, and if unresolved, submitted to the courts of Nigeria having jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves or regulations change. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email, and continued use of ColCare after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
